A fisherman was airlifted from his boat after suffering a hand injury off the coast of the Isle of Lewis on Sunday.

The coastguard received a satellite call from the boat about 103 miles (165.7km) from Stornoway at about 14:30.

The airlift followed consultation with a doctor at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Stornoway Coastguard helicopter flew out to the fishing boat, winched the fisherman on board and flew him to Glasgow.
