Boat owners who use harbours in Moray are being warned to keep their vessels secure after a spate of thefts.

Nine break-ins to boats at ports including Hopeman, Buckie and Portknockie since July are being investigated.

Grampian Police said owners should follow precautions including securing life-rafts and outboard motors.

The force also warned against leaving cabins unlocked or the keys in the ignition.
