Edinburgh motorist dies after Aberdeenshire crash

A 37-year-old man has been killed in a crash on an Aberdeenshire road.

A car and lorry collided on the B9170 between Barra Castle and Tillycairn, near Oldmeldrum, at about 1405 BST on Wednesday.

The driver of the Volkswagen Golf, Edinburgh resident Kestutis Senkus, was trapped and could not be saved.

A Grampian Police spokesman, appealing for witnesses, said the road was closed for about eight hours to allow an accident investigation to take place.
