Six in hospital after Aberdeen city centre fire rescue

Six people were taken to hospital following a fire in an Aberdeen city centre flat.

The fire happened in a first-floor building on George Street, near to its junction with John Street, at about 2200 GMT on Monday.

Grampian Fire and Rescue Service said a number of rescues took place, and a height vehicle was used.

Six people - four females and two males - were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Grampian Police said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
