Body found in sea off Shetland after fisherman search
Searchers looking for missing fisherman Neil Smith have found a body in the sea off Shetland.
Northern Constabulary confirmed that remains had been discovered, but there has been no formal identification.
The 54-year-old was reported missing on 20 January when his prawn boat, Bread Winner, failed to return to Lerwick.
A search involving the coastguard helicopter and the Lerwick lifeboat found the boat among rocks east of the island of Whalsay the following day.
A three day search failed to find Mr Smith.
However, his GPS navigation system was recovered from the wreck, and it is understood that local fishermen, working to the route's outlined on it, found a body on Friday.
Mr Smith's family have been informed.
