Woman seriously injured in Fraserburgh attack

A woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries after being attacked in Fraserburgh.

Grampian Police said they received a report of an assault at a flat on Hamilton Road in the town at about 0740 GMT on Tuesday.

Officers said a 43-year-old man was helping police with their inquiries.

The flat has been cordoned off and forensic examinations are being carried out at the scene of the incident.
