Discovery of body in Aberdeen sparks investigation

The discovery of a man's body next to an Aberdeen river is being investigated by police.

The 35-year-old man's body was found at the River Dee, near the Aberdeen Boat Club, at the city's South Esplanade West.

Grampian Police said the discovery was made at about 1800 GMT on Tuesday.

A force spokesperson, appealing for witnesses, said the death was not being treated as suspicious but the cause was unexplained.
