Man dies after Portknockie cliff plunge

A 69-year-old man has died after plunging from cliffs at a Moray village.

The emergency services were called to Portknockie at about 1100 GMT following a report of an injured man on the beach at the west end of the harbour.

Grampian Police said it was believed the man had fallen from a nearby cliff.

The man was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin by ambulance with "life-threatening" injuries and it was later confirmed he had died.
