'Illegal tobacco factory' found in Aberdeen house

An illegal tobacco "factory" has been uncovered in a house in Aberdeen, HM Revenue and Customs has said.

Officers seized more than 260kg (573lb) of tobacco, said to be worth more than £40,000 in unpaid duty and VAT, from the house in Charles Street.

Counterfeit packaging, heat sealers and scales were also recovered.

Two men and a woman interviewed after the weekend operation were released pending further investigations, an HMRC spokesperson said.
