Attempted murder charge over OAP stabbing in Aberdeen

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a pensioner was stabbed in Aberdeen.

The 79-year-old man was taken to hospital after an incident at Loch Court sheltered housing complex, near George Street, on Tuesday evening.

Robert McNolty, 49, appeared on petition at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

The case was continued for further examination.
