A senior nurse who worked at Aberdeen's Woodend Hospital has been suspended by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Action has been taken against Nicola Burnett amid allegations she obtained drugs at the hospital for her own use.

It is also alleged she went on to her ward whilst on sick leave and administered drugs when on non-clinical duties.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council has imposed an interim 18-month ban to investigate the case.

An NHS Grampian spokesman said: "We can confirm that the employment of a charge nurse was terminated in September last year because of concerns about her professional practice."
