University of Aberdeen halls break-ins investigated
A spate of break-ins at the University of Aberdeen's Crombie halls of residence is being investigated by police.
The BBC Scotland news website has learned that several rooms were targeted on Sunday.
Computer equipment was among the items stolen, but the value of the items taken is still being established.
Appealing for information, Grampian Police said the thefts happened between 1615 BST and 2030 BST.
A University of Aberdeen spokeswoman said: "We are liaising with Grampian Police, and student support services will be providing assistance to any student who may require it.
"Any property which has been lost will be covered by our halls of residence block insurance which the university provides for all students within our accommodation."
She added: "Our student accommodation is staffed 24/7 and regular security checks are carried out."
