Man guilty of shooting at hunters in Aberdeenshire

A man has been found guilty of repeatedly firing a rifle at a group of hunters in Aberdeenshire who were shooting birds near his farm.

Michael Sutherland, 38, of Newburgh, denied culpably and recklessly firing at the group in 2009.

It happened in the direction of men who were out hunting in a field in Foveran.

A jury found him guilty at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. Sentence was deferred until next month.

Witness Owen Jackman previously told the court how he feared someone was going to die when his party came under fire.
