A driver who injured a 12-year-old boy in a hit-and-run in Aberdeen has been jailed.

John McPhee, 47, admitted driving through a set of red lights near the Pittodrie Bar on Aberdeen's King Street in July last year.

The boy needed hospital treatment but escaped serious injury due to the car's speed.

McPhee was jailed for 18 months at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, and was also banned from driving for 10 years.
