Man fined over stag night smoke bomb in Aberdeen bar

A groom-to-be who set off a smoke bomb in an Aberdeen bar during his stag night - forcing an evacuation - has been fined £650.

Postman Christopher Ledgard, 33, admitting letting off the grenade at the Hen Hoose in Stirling Street on Sunday night.

Dozens of revellers had to leave as a result, and he was held in custody.

Ledgard, of Aberdeen's Lewis Road, was fined after he admitted breach of the peace at the city's sheriff court.

Defence lawyer Bob Anderson said the item was a canister his client still had from a paint ball excursion earlier in the day.

He said: "He thought it would be funny but obviously having had a chance to reflect on that realises the stupidity of his actions."
