Young girl assaulted on Aberdeen bus

Police have appealed for witnesses after a young girl was assaulted on a bus in Aberdeen.

A man was seen assaulting the girl, who was believed to be of primary school age, on the number 23 bus in the Rosemount area.

Grampian Police said they were keen to trace an elderly man with a walking stick who may have confronted the man about his behaviour.

The suspect was described as 40, 6ft tall, of solid build, with dark hair.

He was wearing a red top under a short beige jacket.

The incident - believed to be unprovoked - happened between 1650 BST and 1700 BST on Friday on the bus travelling from Craigie Loanings to Midstocket Road.
