Pedestrian hurt in 'serious' crash at Aberdeen beach

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital following a "serious" collision involving a car in Aberdeen.

Grampian Police said the accident happened at the city's Beach Esplanade at about 0935 BST.

The force said the male pedestrian was initially treated by paramedics at the scene, and traffic was affected.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman told the BBC Scotland news website the man, believed to be about 60, had suffered leg injuries.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
