Aberdeen flat evacuated after partial collapse

Five people had to be evacuated from a block of flats in Aberdeen after part of the building began to collapse.

Emergency services were called out in the early hours of Saturday when the facade of the tenement, in the city's Raeburn Place, began to come away.

Grampian Police said the residents were taken from the property as a precaution, but no-one was injured.

Engineers have assessed the damage and a contractor is carrying out work to make the building safe.

Sections of Raeburn Place and Gilcomston Park have been closed while this takes place.
