A member of the board of governors at an independent school in Aberdeen has rejected claims of endemic bullying made by a teacher.

Art teacher Fiona Michie has raised the claims about Robert Gordon's College at an employment tribunal in Aberdeen.

Linda Brown told the tribunal that both the head and depute rejected claims by Mrs Michie of bullying.

Mrs Brown said that Mrs Michie had indicated she might bring her concerns to the attention of the press.

She said: "We viewed it as a threat."

Mrs Michie claims she was forced to resign in 2009 when Robert Gordon's College failed to take action after she was bullied and locked in a storeroom by her head of department.

The tribunal, held at Aberdeen's Atholl House, continues.
