Pedestrian who died after crash at Aberdeen beach named

A 60-year-old pedestrian injured in a serious collision involving a car in Aberdeen has died.

Russell Stuart, of the Seaton area, was treated by paramedics at the scene then taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to suspected leg injuries.

The accident happened at the city's Beach Esplanade on Friday morning.

A Grampian Police spokesperson said that Mr Stuart had died in hospital, and that an investigation into the collision was ongoing.
