Three in hospital after serious Aberdeen road accident

Three people were taken to hospital after a serious rush-hour crash in Aberdeen's west end which caused traffic delays.

Both ends of the road were blocked after the three-vehicle crash on Fountainhall Road, which happened at about 0755 BST.

Crews from Grampian Fire and Rescue Service cut a female from a car.

One of the three taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary had suspected spinal injuries.

The accident caused delays in areas such as Beechgrove Terrace as Grampian Police diverted motorists from the scene.

The road re-opened at about 0920 BST.
