A new air service between the north east of Scotland and Azerbaijan has been launched.

Azerbaijan Airlines is offering two flights a week - on Tuesdays and Sundays - between Aberdeen and the capital city Baku.

Azerbaijan has large reserves of oil and gas and has become increasingly attractive to firms looking to invest and develop fields.

Jamil Manizade, of Azerbaijan Airlines, said it was an important industry step.
