A sheepdog has been rescued after falling about 100ft from cliffs in Aberdeenshire.

The working collie - a two-year-old called Zack - fell down a crevice at Portlethen on Thursday evening.

The Stonehaven Coastguard rescue team was dispatched, alongside the Aberdeen inshore and all-weather lifeboats.

Zack's owner was also rescued after trying to retrieve his dog. Coastguards urged people to call 999 rather than attempting rescues themselves.
