Teenage driver killed in Moray car crash

A teenage driver died in a single-vehicle car crash in Moray on Saturday night.

The man, named locally as 18-year-old Michael Fraser, was at the wheel of a silver Vauxhall Corsa when it crashed on the A95 Cornhill-Keith road at about 2300 BST.

Two passengers in the car were uninjured in the crash.

Grampian Police said the men were believed to be from the Buchan area. Officers appealed for witnesses.

Inspector Ewan Innes said: "Our inquiries are at a very early stage and it is too early to speculate as to the cause of the collision.

"Our thoughts go out to the family of those involved at this time and I would appeal to anyone who may have any information relating to this collision to contact us.

"It is believed the silver Corsa may have travelled from the Cornhill area prior to the collision and I would ask anyone who may have seen it to come forward."
