Asda attempted cash machine raid in Peterhead probed

Police are investigating an attempted raid on a cash machine in Peterhead involving a fork-lift truck.

The incident happened at the Asda supermarket in the Aberdeenshire fishing town's Longside Road at about 0130 BST.

No money was taken as a result of the incident.

It is understood the red vehicle had been taken from a building site in the town's Inverugie Meadows. Grampian Police appealed for information.
