Boy, 14, charged following Peterculter fires

A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a series of fires in the Aberdeen suburb of Peterculter.

Two cars and a shed were damaged, and attempts were also made to set fire to a bus, although this was thwarted by the driver.

The incidents took place on Friday in areas including Malcolm Road and Johnston Gardens North.

Grampian Police said the teenager would be reported to the children's reporter.

Det Con John Webster said: "We would like to thank members of the local community who were quick to come forward and assist us with this enquiry."
