Jail for offshore worker turned cannabis courier

A former Aberdeen offshore worker caught with cannabis worth an estimated £170,000 on the streets has been jailed.

David Hay, 56, was stopped by police on the A90 near Portlethen last July after a tip-off.

He had been offered £500 to take the 50kg drugs from Liverpool to Aberdeen.

Hay, who admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis, was jailed for 40 months at the High Court in Edinburgh.
