Two men arrested following fires at Aberdeen Gramps

Two men have been arrested following a series of fires on Aberdeen hills.

A number of blazes were started on open land on Tullos Hill, known locally as the Gramps, on Sunday afternoon.

Grampian Police said two local men, aged 23 and 27, had been charged with wilful fire raising and were expected to appear in court at a later date.

Pc Gavin Haigh said the fires were found shortly after they were started, and in such hot weather there could have been "catastrophic consequences".
