Thirteen more held during Aberdeen's Operation Maple

Thirteeen people have been arrested during an ongoing police clampdown on drugs in Aberdeen.

Grampian Police said the latest phase of Operation Maple saw drugs with an estimated street value of more than £3,000 seized.

Three men - aged 21, 22 and 34 - and a 33-year-old woman were arrested after the operation in the Mastrick area.

The force said nine people had also been detained as officers executed warrants across the city.

Ch Insp George Macdonald said: "These results are a further testament to what can be achieved when the police and the local community work so closely together.

"Operation Maple has now seen more than £300,000 of illegal drugs removed from the city's streets as well as over 100 people arrested in connection with a variety of offences."
