Man who died in Boyndie crash named as Russell Smith

A man who died following a single-vehicle crash in the north east of Scotland has been named.

Russell Smith, 65, from the Peterhead area, was driving a white Ford Transit van when it crashed.

The accident happened on the unclassified road at Boyndie between the A98 and Strichen, Aberdeenshire, on Tuesday.

Grampian Police earlier said indications were that the death had been connected to a medical matter.

The force appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
