Lawyer caught speeding at 98mph on new motorcycle on A9

A lawyer was caught speeding at 98mph on his new motorcycle, a court has heard.

Callum Sim, of Kingswells, Aberdeenshire, admitted the offence, committed on the A9 between Perth and Inverness, near Ballinluig, in May.

Sim, 49, a counsel with oil giant Shell, said in a letter to Perth's Justice of the Peace Court he had been overtaking, and then slowed down.

Justice of the Peace Christine Grant imposed five points and a £300 fine.
