Teenager dead after car hits parked vehicles

A teenage passenger died after the Ford Fiesta he was travelling in hit a number of parked vehicles in Newburgh, near Aberdeen.

The incident happened on Main Street at about 0055 BST on Sunday.

Brendon Main, aged 19 and from the Cults area of Aberdeen, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died.

Grampian Police Sgt Neil Morrison said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young man whose life was lost in this incident."

He added: "Our investigation is at an early stage and I am asking anyone who witnessed this collision or who may have any other useful information to contact Grampian Police.

"That said, I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have either witnessed the crash or who may have any other information that would allow us to progress this enquiry and who has not already come forward to contact us as soon as possible."
