Aberdeen assault police appeal for help

Police in Aberdeen have appealed for help in their investigation into an unprovoked assault in the city centre during the early hours of Sunday.

A 20-year-old man was punched by a group of men between Shiprow and Adelphi on Union Street at about 01:30.

The three men alleged to have carried out the attack are described as being aged between 18 to 20.

One was wearing a red chequered shirt, one had a denim shirt and and the other wore a white top.

A Grampian Police spokesman said: "This was an unprovoked assault on a man in the company of his girlfriend and we urge anyone to come forward who may have seen the incident or any male matching the descriptions in the area at the time."
