Injured tanker crewman taken from Shetland to Aberdeen

An injured crewman from a tanker off Shetland has been airlifted to Aberdeen for treatment.

The man was understood to have been splashed in the face with chemicals on board the 130,000-tonne Navion Norvegia off Sumburgh.

The Shetland Coastguard helicopter picked him up and flew the man to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries.

Coastguards said the incident happened at about 07:00.
