Orkney school teacher struck over sexual comments

A teacher at an Orkney school has been struck off for making sexual comments to pupils.

Kenneth Dickson, 30, was teaching maths and religious education at Westray Junior High School in Orkney in 2008.

One comment highlighted was "stop having an orgasm" and he was found guilty of nine charges by the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

The teacher, of Motherwell, had denied the charges but a disciplinary panel banned him.

The panel ruled his conduct "fell short of the standard expected" and he "did not maintain appropriate professional boundaries with pupils in the classroom", as well as showing no remorse.
