Woman in court over 'stabbing attack' in Aberdeen

A woman has appeared in court after a man was allegedly stabbed and badly injured in Aberdeen.

Vilma Karciauskiene, 43, was charged with assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

An Eastern European man in his 30s was taken to hospital after the incident in the early hours of Wednesday.

A Crown Office spokesperson said the accused made no plea or declaration at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and was released on bail.

There was police activity at King Street, near Tesco Express. Grampian Police said the activity followed "an isolated incident at Pittodrie Place".
