Two seriously hurt in collision near Banchory

Two men suffered serious injuries after a crash on an Aberdeenshire road.

The motorists were cut free from the wreckage of the two-vehicle collision on the South Deeside Road near Banchory at about 23:20.

They were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Two other casualties were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The road was closed for several hours for accident investigators to examine the scene but later reopened. Grampian Police appealed for witnesses.
