Teenager dies in car wall crash in Fraserburgh

A teenage driver has died after his car hit a wall in Fraserburgh and ended up on its nose.

The accident happened in the Aberdeenshire town's Strichen Road, near its junction with King Edward Street, at about 06:00 on Monday.

Grampian Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene to cut the 17-year-old free from the red Vauxhall Astra but he could not be saved.

The road was closed until about 15:00 to allow an investigation.

Grampian Police appealed for witnesses.
