Six treated after suspicious Aberdeen fire

Fourteen people were evacuated from a tenement block in Aberdeen following a fire which police believe was started deliberately.

The fire broke out about 02:20 on Saturday in Portland Street.

A total of six people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

Grampian Police and the fire and rescue service are carrying out a joint investigation. Officers have issued an appeal for witnesses.
