Injured Moray Firth offshore worker flown to hospital

An injured worker from an offshore vessel in the Moray Firth has been flown to hospital in Aberdeen for treatment.

The man was picked up from the Captain, which was about 70 miles north of Aberdeen, by a rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth.

An Aberdeen Coastguard spokesman told the BBC Scotland news website the man had suffered a suspected broken leg.

The alarm was raised at 08:50. The man was flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
