The body of a man in his 30s has been found in the Gadle Braes area of Peterhead.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said the discovery was made by a member of the public on rocky shoreline at about 11:00.

The death is being treated as "unexplained" by police and his identity will not be released until relatives have been informed.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

The spokesman said the area where the body was found was overlooked by a residential area and was popular with dog walkers.

The force is particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been walking in the area, who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or seen anything unusual.
