Teacher at Aberdeen's Hazlehead Academy struck off
An Aberdeen teacher has been struck off by the profession's governing body for "serious professional incompetence".
Suzanne Harwood was an English teacher at the city's Hazlehead Academy.
The General Teaching Council for Scotland decided there was enough evidence of professional incompetence to remove her from the register.
Ms Harwood did not attend a hearing earlier this week. She can appeal against the decision.
Ms Harwood had indicated in a written response that she neither admitted the charges or accepted they amounted to serious professional incompetence.
Teachers in Scotland being struck off for incompetence is rare.
Seven in all have been removed from the register for incompetence since legislation made this possible five years ago.
