Biker dies after Aberdeen crash

A 28-year-old man has died after a collision involving his motorbike and a car on St Machar Drive in Aberdeen.

The crash took place between the roundabout junctions with Great Northern Road and Tillydrone Avenue, at about 16:00 on Tuesday.

The driver of the Ford Focus car was uninjured. Grampian Police officers are investigating the circumstances of the collision.

The road was closed for six hours. Police urged witnesses to come forward.

Insp Jim Wood said: "An enquiry team have been put in place to investigate the cause of the collision and St Machar Drive was closed for around six hours to allow part of those investigations to be carried out.

"I would appeal to any one who saw this collision to come forward and to make contact with Grampian Police to assist with those enquiries.

"The next of kin of those involved have been advised."
