An Aberdeen community bus destroyed by fire is to be replaced thanks to local businesses.

The bus - used by the St Machar Parent Support Project - was for many organisations, such as those helping children with special needs.

The Stewart Group, Achater Offshore, Gulf Offshore and EnShip have bought a new minibus for the charity from Arnold Clark at cost price.

Marilyn White, of the charity, said it was "the best Christmas present ever".

Bill Budge, chairman of The Stewart Group, said: "After learning of the charity's plight we felt compelled to do something to help."
