Appeal after Elgin taxi driver, 63, robbed

Police have appealed for witnesses after a 63-year-old taxi driver was robbed and injured in Elgin.

The driver was approached by a man while working in the Springfield Court area of the Moray town shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

He escaped with about £70 and left the victim with several cuts to his face and head.

Grampian Police said the robber was described as wearing dark clothing and having a local accent.
