NHS Grampian to make insulin boy apology

A health board has been told to apologise to the mother of a five-year-old boy who was shown by a nurse how to administer his own insulin injections.

The mother, know as Mrs C, said she was unhappy at support given to her son - who suffers from Type 1 diabetes - by an NHS Grampian district nursing team.

The Scottish Public Services Ombudsman said Mrs C should have been asked for her consent.

The health authority said it would write to Mrs C to apologise.
