A nurse allowed an elderly care home resident to put his hands in her top as well as touch her bottom, a disciplinary hearing has heard.

Badarmaine Garnett faces charges relating to Sunnybank home in Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, in 2008.

A Nursing and Midwifery Council conduct and competence committee is examining the allegations.

A witness statement read out said one resident "regularly put his hands down her top and touched her bottom".

The 67-year-old is also accused of sleeping whilst on duty and allowing care assistants to give medication to residents.

Solicitor Jonathan Guy said his client was nearing retirement age and had no intention of returning to nursing.

He said that she wanted to "clear her name".

The hearing continues.
