Grampian Police officer faces child pornography trial

A Grampian Police officer is set to stand trial on child pornography charges.

Neil Shand, 49, is alleged to have been in possession of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children at his home in Aberchirder, Aberdeenshire.

He is further accused of taking or permitting indecent images of children to be taken.

Mr Shand, who denies the charges, was not present when the case called at Peterhead Sheriff Court.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between 8 January and 15 December 2010.

The case is due to go to trial later this month.
