A debate on Aberdeen's controversial City Garden Project is to be held by BBC Radio Scotland.

A referendum on the future of Union Terrace Gardens is expected to get under way on Thursday 16 February, when papers are sent out to voters.

That evening, BBC Radio Scotland will record a debate, involving key figures in the issue.

On Monday, Diller Scofidio and Renfro/Keppie Design's entry Granite Web was chosen for the project.

Members of the public are being asked if they support the project or want the existing gardens kept.

The referendum ballot closes on 1 March.
