Straw bales worth £10,000 lost in Cuminestown fire

About 1,000 straw bales worth more than £10,000 have been destroyed in a "suspicious" fire in Aberdeenshire.

The incident happened at about 03:30 at a farm near the unclassified Cuminestown to Fyvie road.

The bales were said to be well alight by the time Grampian Fire and Rescue Service arrived.

Grampian Police, appealing for information, said the force was treating the blaze as "having been started deliberately".
